Colours and styles you'll see everywhere in 2027
What's happening in the design world, what makes sense for your business and what's better left alone.
Every year brings a new list of trends, and every year someone decides to redo their logo just because "that's what everyone is doing". Trends are a good source of inspiration, but a brand should last longer than one season. Let's look at what is happening in design and what to take from it.
Warm, earthy colours
After years of cold blue and sterile white, colours that feel human are coming back: sand, terracotta, olive, chocolate. They feel calm and trustworthy, which suits businesses that want to come across as personal rather than corporate.
One bold colour
Instead of a rainbow, one brave colour is enough, such as neon yellow or bright green, used only where it matters. On a button, next to a price or in a detail of the logo. It lets everything else breathe.
A trend is a spice. Put it in everything and you stop tasting the food.
Type as the main character
Big headlines, a simple sans serif paired with an elegant italic, and plenty of white space. Text is no longer filler but part of the picture. For a small business that's good news: a well-typeset website doesn't need expensive photos.
Handmade and imperfect
As a counterweight to AI images, there is growing interest in things that show a human touch. Sketches, paper texture, handwritten details, real photos instead of stock. People want to see that there is someone behind the brand.
What to take away
- Choose colours and type based on who you are, not on what is popular right now.
- Try a trend on social media or in a campaign first, not in your logo.
- Change your logo when your business changes, not when fashion does.

To wrap up
The best trend is consistency. A brand that looks the same on the web, on a business card and on a van looks professional, whatever year it is.
